About Brown College

Brown College serves a single purpose: to prepare our students for the professional positions they will assume after graduation.

To meet that obligation, we help them develop both the technical skills they will need and the sense of dedication and responsibility that underpins every successful career in court reporting, medical transcription, and CART & Captioning
(court reporting, CART& captioning and medical transcription.)

In addition, because a working career is only one part of a larger whole, we devote equal time to stimulating intellectual and cultural growth, both through the courses we offer and through daily interaction with the diversity of background and experience among our faculty and student body. We make a special effort to treat each student as an individual deserving respect and as a "professional-in-training" deserving the fullest measure of knowledge and experience we have to offer.

Accreditations

  • Brown College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE).

COE is a national accrediting agency that is committed to assuring quality and integrity in career and workforce development.

  • Our court reporting program is approved by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA).

  • Brown College maintains membership and affiliation with the American Association for Medical Transcription (AAMT) and the Georgia NonPublic Post-Secondary Education Commission (NPEC)

The Value of a Brown College Education

For over 34 years Brown College has been preparing students for careers that bring a lifetime of success and satisfaction. Court reporters, captioners and medical transcriptionists are integral members of the legal, captioning and medical communities and as such enjoy the wide range of benefits that these professions offer.

Since 1972, Brown College has placed over 97 percent of its court reporting and medical transcription graduates. Brown College has consistently adapted its programs to keep up with the technological advancements prevalent in today's professional environments.

By making recent modifications to our court reporting program to train students in the latest court reporting computer technology, our graduates will be able to continually provide the legal community with services no other reporting method can match.

The proof of any education is in the results it produces. By this measure, Brown sets the standard in the court reporting and medical transcription industry and is recognized throughout the country.
